ALL ABOUT YOGURTS!

You might have heard the word Yogurt from the famous phrase, "TERRY LOVES YOGURT!!" from our beloved Brooklyn Nine Nine!

Yogurt is a dairy product that is made by bacterial fermentation of milk, i.e. some bacteria is added to milk and then, milk is allowed to ferment. Yogurt can be made from all types of milk. Varieties made from skim milk are considered fat-free, whereas those made from whole milk are considered full-fat.

Plain yogurt without added colorants is a white, thick liquid with a tangy flavor, which is produced in almost all Indian households. Popularly called Dahi, yogurt makes an excellent quick snack and a versatile dessert. It can be served chilled or frozen!

GREEK YOGURT

Greek Yogurt is basically a healthier version of yogurt, with less amount of whey, slightly thicker than your normal yogurt. Nutritionists recommend greek yogurt when dieting.

BENEFITS OF YOGURT
  1. An excellent source of minerals like calcium, phosphorus, and zinc

  2. Provides useful amounts of Vitamin A and several B Vitamins

  3. More digestible than milk for people with lactose intolerance

Drawback- Flavoured, sweetened commercial yogurt may be high in calories

YOGURT GOES WITH EVERYTHING!

2. Yogurt Shake- Blend a half cup fruit-flavored yogurt with half a cup of low-fat milk. Blend until it's creamy.

3. Cucumber Dip- Peel, seed, and dice a large cucumber and combine with 1 cup of plain yogurt. Add salt, pepper, and chopped fresh herbs. Serve as a dip for vegetables, a dressing for salad, or a sandwich spread!
